All building inspectors who do building control work in Wales must be registered with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

The register shows:

•building inspector name

•registration number

•employer’s or business name and address

•registration class

•categories of buildings the inspector is registered to work on

•start and end date of registration

•details of any conditions of registration

You can search by building inspector name, the building control body they are employed by, or a combination of both.

The competency assessment extension period for Wales ended on 1 October 2024. This means that experienced RBIs registered as class 1 can no longer carry out regulated activities without supervision.
