Local authorities work with BSR in multi-disciplinary teams to fulfil their legal duties in assisting the regulation of higher-risk buildings and higher-risk building work.

This guidance tells local authorities what they must do under the provisions of section 13 of the Building Safety Act 2022. This includes:

•how they can work with BSR

•what BSR can request

•what experience and level of competence they should provide, and when

Secretary of State consent has been obtained under Section 16(5) of the Building Safety Act 2022.
